Legislation changes as of January 1st, 2017 in Queensland require all residential properties to have a photoelectric, interconnected smoke alarm in each bedroom, in hallways that connect bedrooms and at least one on every storey of a multi level property, in the most likely route to exit.
Additionally, these requirements will become mandatory for ALL dwellings in Queensland by 1st January 2027.
